Modular building
Modular buildings meet the demand for schools that need to be built in a short period of time, and this certainly is the case for Langford Academy.
Central Bedfordshire Council had an urgent requirement following a recent condition survey. To resolve this, they used ESPO’s 953 Modular Building Framework for the supply, manufacture, delivery, and installation of a double classroom block, containing two large DfE classrooms with storage areas, an accessible toilet, three W/Cs, and a lobby area.
Following the competitive mini-competition tendering process, with speed of delivery as the main driver, we worked with the Council after the award and pre-start meeting to fast-track the building into use.
Following a successful delivery and occupation, we provided a further two double classroom blocks to additional school sites in the Central Bedfordshire region.
