Security Gatehouse, Thirsk

Thurston Group were appointed to design, manufacture, and deliver an anti-vandal security gatehouse for Cargill, Thirsk.

The security gatehouse was incorporated into a weighbridge structure to enable haulage drivers better access and egress from the client’s site in North Yorkshire.

Throughout early engagement, the building design was value engineered to meet a tight budget. After reviewing multiple external finishes, a painted external finish was selected, with powder-coated grey windows and doors, while still retaining internal air conditioning units for heating and cooling.

The unit is a tough, low-maintenance building designed to provide whole-life durability, while offering additional space requirements with minimal groundwork and minimal disruption to users and site operations.
