Esso – Blast Office and Welfare Complex

Thurston Group has delivered a bespoke, modular Ultrablast welfare block for Esso Petroleum. Installed at their Purfleet Fuels Terminal, it was built to specific requirements and comprised a wide range of internal rooms. 

Liaising with an external civil contractor, we manufactured a series of blast units for the client. Ultimately forming a blast resistant complex including a reception and welfare block. The complex, complete with air conditioning, also featured large open plan office space with meeting rooms, a kitchenette and three smaller offices. 

Offsite construction allowed us to keep disruption on a live operating site to a minimum. The project was delivered to Esso on time, within budget and to a high standard. All buildings have been designed to withstand up to 100mbar blast resistance.
