About Thurston Group
At Thurston Group, we are an industry leader in offsite modular construction. We design, manufacture, and install a range of products, including relocatable cabins, bespoke modular buildings, and specialist structures.
Thurston Group has over 50 years of expertise in the modular construction market.
We have three strategically placed sites across Yorkshire. We’re headquartered in Wakefield, with a further two manufacturing facilities in Catfoss and Hull, which gives us an annual production capacity of over 5,000 units.
We’ve also recently acquired specialist fabrication business Storplan, which has given us access to a 1,900 sqm manufacturing facility in York, enabling us to take on larger structural steel projects, and more complex modular construction work.
Thurston Group completes projects all across the UK, installing buildings, cabins, and specialist structures everywhere from the Southwest to Scotland and in Ireland.

Offsite construction is inherently more sustainable than traditional methods of construction. By manufacturing building components in a controlled factory setting, we can minimise material waste, reduce energy consumption, and lower carbon emissions associated with transportation and on-site activities. This process also enhances precision and quality control, leading to more durable and energy-efficient structures.
As a company committed to sustainability, we have also implemented several key initiatives to further reduce our environmental impact and promote responsible business practices:
Our Carbon Reduction Plan outlines a clear path to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, by prioritising renewable energy, operational efficiency, and employee engagement, to minimise our environmental impact.
We have also been named as one of the UK’s top performing modular building companies by the Plimsoll Report, showcasing our commitment to net-zero requirements.
Through these efforts, we are not only reducing our ecological impact but also contributing to the advancement of a greener and more sustainable construction industry.
