The brief
The brief was to construct of two-storey building with consultation and treatment rooms, designed to accommodate a range of community health services.
The challenges
The build needed to take place with minimal disruption to the surrounding community.
The solution
Thurston installed a ten-bay modular building, providing two storeys of consultation and treatment rooms for Waterside Health and Wellbeing Centre. The building was uniquely designed ensuring maximum occupancy and efficiency for a wide range of community health services.
Thanks to the flexibility of the design, we were able to provide a bespoke internal and external finish to accommodate the client’s brief. The finished building is clad in various materials including render, a stone skin and cedar.
While the interior comprises under floor heating, mechanical ventilation, full access control and staff security systems. It’s also been built in compliance with Health Technical Memoranda and clinical guidance.
Offsite and modular construction minimised disruption to the surrounding community and ensured a quick delivery.
Customer testimonial
Dr Rehena Master of Waterside Health and Wellbeing Centre said “The building is fantastic. The rooms are all spacious and we’ve got separate treatment rooms and minor ops now, which no practice I’ve worked at before has had.’’
